History of Tennis in Midland
In 1967 a plan was devised by 91 Midland leaders to bring the town "back to life."
They established 54 objectives. 51 of the objectives have been met. One of the objectives yet to be accomplished is the creation of a public tennis center.
In a 2006 study, it was found that a city should have one tennis court for every 2,000 citizens (in addition to those owned by schools).
Midlands population has increased since 1967, but the city has lost 30 public tennis courts during that time.
We are going to accomplish the goal set 40 years ago.
